Ladies Golf at Hanover Country Club

Any woman, 16 years of age or older, who has full golfing privileges at the Hanover Country Club may joining the Hanover Country Club Ladies' Golf Association (HCCLGA). After joining, she may participate in all HCCLGA activities, including 18-hole days on Tuesdays, 9-hole days on Wednesdays, occasional weekend events, and summer holidays. After each of these activities, most players enjoy social time over a delicious lunch. Annual dues are $75. The official organized playing months of the HCCLGA are from mid-April through mid-October. The HCCLGA has a breakfast meeting to kick off the season in April and a closing meeting in October. The HCCLGA is a very active and robust group at the Club, comprising over 70 members. In addition, golfers interested in playing on a trial basis are welcome, and players may join the HCCLGA in midseason for a $40 fee. 

For those who don’t wish to play weekdays but would still like to enter our tournaments, HCCLGA also offers a Special Events fee. For a $40 annual fee, Special Events Members are eligible to play in, and receive awards for, all HCCLGA-sponsored events except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. These events include, but are not limited to, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, The Old Pal, The Shootout and some Sunday Breakfast events. To join, notify the HCC office that you wish to join the HCCLGA as a Special Events Member. You will be billed the $40 events fee in the early spring.

Women golfers also have the option of belonging to three associations. In addition to the Women’s York County Golf Association, which is listed on the website, we are affiliated with the Women’s Central Penn Golf Association and Pennsylvania State Women’s Golf Association. WOMEN’S CENTRAL PENN GOLF ASSOCIATION

     The WCPGA is comprised of more than 20 clubs throughout Central Pennsylvania. The association hosts a series of tournaments during the season. For details concerning tournament sites and dates see its website at www.wcpgagolf.org.

PENNSYLVANIA STATE WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOC.

     The Pennsylvania State Women’s Golf Association (PSWGA) promotes the true spirit of the game of golf through state-level competition for amateur women. See schedule at www.pswga.com.

18 Hole Ladies Day

This group meets on Tuesday mornings. The starting time is a 9:00am shotgun throughout the season. The Golf Pro assembles the team in either ABCD order or in order of handicap. Each Tuesday there is a "game of the day" with prize money in the form of pro shop credit available to winners each week. The 18-hole group also pays out for individual low gross, low net, birdies, and chip-ins. In addition, there are several tournaments played on Tuesdays for larger payouts. While all handicaps are welcome, the maximum 18-hole handicap that a player may use on Tuesdays is 40.

9 Hole Ladies Day

This group meets on Wednesday mornings, also with a 9:00 am shotgun start throughout the season. As with Tuesday outings, the Golf Pro assembles teams into ABCD handicaps for the "game of the day." Prize money in the form of pro shop credit is awarded to the winners each week. The last Wednesday of every month is always a scramble, and the 9-hold group has a "9-Hole Club Championship" that is played on Wednesdays in August. There is no maximum handicap for playing in the 9-hole games.

Women's York County Amateur Golf Association

All members of the HCCLA are eligible to join WYCAGA. WYCAGA is a league of 9 member clubs throughout York County. WYCAGA sponsors head-to-head interclub matches and several large events throughout the season.
